Ladies Golf

We are a welcoming, sociable group of ladies who meet every Tuesday and at the weekend for social and competitive golf.

Ladies have always played a very important and equal part in Reigate Heath Golf Club.  Permission was obtained from the landowner, Lady Henry Somerset, to create a golf course and it was one of her conditions that lady members were treated equally to the men; voting rights, access to the course, playing in competitions, the lot!  This was 26 years before ladies (over 21) were finally given the right to vote for Members of Parliament.

We offer the following:

  • Weekday monthly medal and stableford competitions
  • Fun competitions
  • Individual and Pairs summer and winter knockouts
  • Spring and summer meetings
  • Invitation Day
  • Lady Captain's away days
  • The opportunity to play in Surrey Ladies competitions such as the Druce, The Pearson Trophy and Centenary Bowl
  • The chance to enter national competitions such as the Daily Mail Foursomes and the R & A Coronation Foursomes
  • Friendly matches with other clubs - at the weekend and during the week

Ladies Academy

We have a strong ladies Academy and make sure that every new lady golfer is supported on her journey from beginner (or a rusty returner) to full member by being allocated a Buddy. We recognise that it can be daunting starting a new sport or a new club and so run regular Academy practice sessions, meetings and competitions to allow Academy members to get to know each other, the rest of the ladies section and learn the etiquette and Rules of Golf.

For more information on Academy membership click here.

For those who are still a little unsure that they are ready to commit to golf club membership, our PGA Professional runs free Ladies' taster sessions followed by a 5 week introduction to golf.

Mixed Golf

All of the weekend medal and stableford competitions are open to men and women. We have one club competition and if your handicap is accurate you’ll have as much chance of winning as the men. As a club, we have also moved away from the idea of gender specific tees and the scorecard is set up for women to play off the red, blue or white tees and the men off the white, yellow or blue tees.

Women in Golf Charter

We are thrilled to announce that as of April 2022, Reigate Heath Golf Club is an approved signatory of the R&A Women in Golf Charter.

It recognises the work that we are doing in conjunction with England Golf to increase women and girls’ participation and membership in golf; to encourage more families to enjoy golf as a leisure activity, and to encourage more opportunities for women to work and volunteer in the golf industry.

We have committed to:

  • Deliver two initiatives annually targeting women/girls and families that are aligned with key England Golf campaigns
  • Formally promote inclusion to the wider community
  • Designate Mentors to assist and support new participants and members
  • Promote a membership pathway for girls and Ladies to progress within RHGC
  • Become England Golf Safe Golf Accredited
  • Appoint a designated Charter Champion within the club who can assist with the promotion and reporting of the charter
